Information extraction from high resolution Multispectral and Panchromatic satellite images for:
Spectral enhancement is first carried out to differentiate between vegetation and non vegetation features. Individual Pam trees crowns are then extracted and counted from object based classification and image segmentation.
Three indices, namely NDVI, RIR and PCI are used for interpretation of tree features versus other features like soil open area etc. Image segmentation detects and extracts the individual oil palm tree features inside the preset plot boundary. After extraction of features, geospatial data layers are directly storable into GIS.
